In a very short time, the Trust has been able to achieve the following:
- The office of the Trust has been established at Sem. Visiting alumni are received here and extended normal hospitality and courtesy. Archives are being scanned and it is expected that soon any Old Boy will be able to view photographs and write-ups relating to his period at school on the Trust computer.
- In accordance with Object 4 above, a visit of Lt. Gen. S.R. Ghosh, GOCinC Western Command was organized on the 28th April 2012. The General, an erstwhile Trustee, gave a very inspiring talk to the students. The heartfelt gratitude that he expressed towards Sem was very moving and greatly affected all, including some old boys, who were present in the Concert Hall. The students not only felt a sense of pride and encouragement but also became aware of the rich traditions that they were heir to. The visit of a serving top-ranking General created quite a stir in the town as a whole and the incident was covered by all the newspapers. Gen Ghosh also presented a large Silver Salver to serve as a running award, very appropriately, for the 'Best Athlete' of the year. An impressive illustration of a battle tank was also dedicated by him to the school for the purpose of inspiring students towards taking up an army
career. (Some of the students were hoping that he would follow this up by presenting an actual tank!)
- The Trust was deeply involved with the 125th anniversary of the school in 2013 and worked closely with the Sem OBA to make the celebrations a huge success.
- Discussions have been initiated with the school authorities regarding celebrations of the 125th anniversary of the School in 2013. It has been decided that the celebrations will be held from 3rd Oct to 6th Oct 2013. Details shall be displayed in this website as soon as the program is finalized.
